Lake Eye is expanding our service team again, this time to welcome Adria Anguita, OD. Dr. Anguita earned her doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. Dr. Anguita went on to complete a postdoctoral residency at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center, providing veterans with comprehensive eye exams to diagnose ocular diseases and disorders, and specialty eye exams for low vision and contact lens prescription and fitting. “I really enjoyed treating veterans and helping them find effective solutions to their various vision problems,” says Dr. Anguita. “It felt like a way to show my gratitude for their service.”
Dr. Anguita is certified in Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT), a specially designed gas permeable contact lens for correcting early myopia in children and helping them avoid certain eye diseases as adults. She has worked directly with a host of vision professionals, including specialists in glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, corneal and retinal diseases, and has performed case presentations on various subjects including ischemic optic neuropathy, conjunctival lesions, diagnostic testing for early glaucoma and others.
“It’s great to be joining the Lake Eye team,” says Dr. Anguita. “I can’t wait to start making a difference in patients’ lives.”
Whenever possible, Dr. Anguita volunteers her time to the Special Olympics, the Walk for Autism and other community organizations.
