Whether
it’s for your regular yearly eye exam or for the most sophisticated
ocular, medical or surgical treatment, the team of board-certified
ophthalmologists at Lake Eye looks forward to helping patients
see the world more clearly. One thing is certain: when you put
your eye care in their hands, you will have the best opportunity
to preserve or restore your vision and prevent vision threatening
eye diseases.
Lake
Eye Associates provides comprehensive eye care; from routine
exams for eyeglasses and contact lenses to highly specialized
surgical procedures for treatment of cataracts, glaucoma and
other eye conditions. Of course, such great care would not be
possible without Lake Eye’s excellent team of opticians. Take
Linda Minor for instance. She is a board certified optician
who has been in the business for 21 years. She works at the
company’s office in The Villages. “We’re a one-stop optical
store where you see an ophthalmologist and then come directly
to us,” she said. “We offer two-year warranties on all our lenses
and frames, and customers can come in here anytime and have
them adjusted. I enjoy getting to know patients and help assisting
them in finding glasses that best suit their needs. We have
a very good team here and everyone is willing to help and cooperate.
I feel like part of a family.”
Nila
Pitts works at the Eustis location. She has been an optician
since 1970. “I love working here at Lake Eye. I’ve only worked
for one other ophthalmology practice in my life. Here, we truly
go above and beyond to satisfy our patients. There’s never a
boring day because we get such a diverse group of patients visit
our office on a daily basis. I’m fortunate to be part of such
a good team.”
Optical
assistant Sharon Deveney echoes those sentiments. She is currently
working to earn her LDO (Licensed Dispensing Optician) license.
“I have learned a lot by working alongside Linda Minor. She
has been great to show me the ropes, which is important since
I’ve only been working here since April. As a matter of fact
everyone here has been very grateful in assisting me.”
Jeannie
Galloway began her career at Lake Eye two years ago. She started
working at the front desk but advanced to optical assistant.
“It looked like lots of fun working in the optical department
so I decided to give it a shot,” she said. “I received lots
of support when I made the transition. I thoroughly enjoy it.
I’m the kind of person who enjoys working with people in general.”
What’s
New at Lake Eye?
The
company is proud to introduce Varilux Physio progressive lenses
for individuals who have presbyopia, a vision defect that with
aging reduces the ability to focus at all distance ranges. These
lenses use revolutionary technology so users can see near, far,
and everything in between. Varilux lenses enable the eyes to
make a smooth, gradual transition when changing focus from near
to intermediate to far vision. Unlike bifocal lenses, Varilux
lenses eliminate the line that creates an abrupt, annoying vision
change from near to far vision.
The
added comfort of Varilux is achieved with an increased field
of vision. This larger vision field reduces unnecessary head
movements both vertically and horizontally, which means patients
can assume a more natural, comfortable posture when viewing
objects. |
